About China Visa Guide

An independent travel-information tool that helps travelers figure out, in seconds, whether they need a visa to enter mainland China β€” and what to do next.

Our mission

China's entry rules change often: unilateral visa-free lists, the 240-hour visa-free transit program, regional pilots, and per-country requirements. We built a free calculator that turns those rules into a plain answer for dozens of passport countries and every eligible transit entry port, so travelers don't have to dig through embassy PDFs.

What the tool does

  • β€’Visa-free checker β€” tells you whether your passport qualifies for visa-free entry and for how many days.
  • β€’240-hour transit calculator β€” checks eligibility for the visa-free transit program based on your route (A β†’ China β†’ B) and entry port.
  • β€’Country guides β€” practical, plain-language pages for major passport holders (US, UK, Philippines, Pakistan, and more), covering required documents, fees, processing times, and the 10-year multiple-entry option where applicable.
  • β€’Practical extras β€” such as our Alipay guide for visitors who need to pay inside China.
